- Are you interested in music?
- Ever wondered how to create a soundtrack for a film?
We are looking for 4 young people who are passionate about music, have an ability to play and/or compose music and would jump at the chance to develop their skills further. You will have the opportunity to devise and record a musical soundtrack for an animation created by other young people that is inspired by their take on the Olympics. The ability to read music is an advantage but not essential.
You will learn…
How music can change and influence the scene of a film.
- Learn about ‘hitpoints’ and ‘guide tracks’.
- Learn about matching the film to the music: synchronisation.
- Learn how to write, record, arrange and mix a soundtrack (using Logic software on a Mac)
- Learn about the movie directors and their composers
It will be led by film and television composer Stephen Daltry, who has composed for over 40 films, and his credits include BBC's 'The Hunt', 'Not Waving But Drowning', ITV's 'Diana: Secrets Behind the Crash', and the recent 'Charlotte: A Royal at War' for the Yesterday Channel.
The final film will be screened at Holloway Odeon as part of Holloway Arts Festival 2012 and entered into a competition to be included in the BBC Live Sites during the Olympics and in the Olympic Stadium itself!
