Urban Craft Club
For adults (age 16+) - all welcome and FREE

The Urban Craft Club started in October 2009, offering an opportunity to people over 16 with some or no skill to learn new techniques in a relaxing, collaborative and informal environment.
Our project for this term is Winter Colours. We will be looking at Fauvism (a 20th-century French art movement) and taking inspiration from surroundings to create fabric designs using techniques of Patchwork, Appliqué and Embroidery. No skills necessary!

Reel Islington Film Festival: 'We The People'

- A screening of Turner Prize winnning artist Jeremy Deller's Battle of Orgeave, followed by a discussion between the artist and Jeremy Corbyn MP
- A screening of the award winning Leaving Baghdad, followed by a Q & A with Director Koutaiba Al- Janabi and Producer Hannah Heffner
- Workshops and talks with industry professionals

'Daily Olympics' - Free Animation Project
February and March 2012

We are looking for 15 young people who are passionate about film, drawing and animation and want to be involved in creating an animation inspired by your take on the Olympics.

- Are you interested in filmmaking?
- Ever wanted to learn how to use a camera?
This is a chance be involved in creating a video artwork inspired by the role of screens in our lives. The project is led by artist David Blandy.

'Daily Olympics' - Music Composition Project
2-4 April 2012 (Easter Holidays), 10am-5pm
For 14-19 Year Olds
- Are you interested in music?
- Ever wondered how to create a soundtrack for a film?
We are looking for 4 young people who are passionate about music, have an ability to play and/or compose music and would jump at the chance to develop their skills further.
You will devise and record a musical soundtrack for an animation created by other young people, inspired by their take on the Olympics.
